What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by dry, scaly patches and bumps (non-inflamed). The bumps are typically reddish in color and covered by white-silvery scales. Psoriasis can be mild or severe, and it usually affects the knees, elbows, and scalp. There is no known cause or cure, but it results from skin cells that reproduce much faster than normal. Psoriasis can occur at any age, but it usually develops between the ages of 20-30 and affects both men and women.
