#skinspeak: What’s A Ceramide?

Here’s the thing about getting older: all of the substances in your skin that keep it looking young (such as Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid) begin to deplete. With less of these substances, the skin begins to look drier and less firm.

Ceramides are one such substance. These natural lipids (fats) work as the glue that hold skin cell’s together on the surface of your complexion. With fewer ceramides, the skin becomes dry, irritated, and sensitive. It also becomes more vulnerable to aging environmental factors (like free radicals) as well as weather conditions. (This is the reason why the skin has a worse reaction to bad weather conditions as we age.)

Boosting your skin’s natural protective barrier is probably a good idea, right? That’s where ceramide based care products come in. They work to lock moisture into the skin while safeguarding it against aging forces and irritating factors.

You’ll find ceramides here:

AHA & Ceramide Moisturizer

Ceramide Eye Gel

Ceramide Complex with NMP and AHA

Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream
